Space scientists by day… Coro singers by night

Soprano Dr. Nina Lanza has been a Coro singer since 2014. For her ‘day job,’ she is the Team Lead for Space and Planetary Exploration in Space and Remote Sensing at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. She is the principal Investigator of the ChemCam instrument onboard the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover and a science team member for the SuperCam instrument onboard the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover. Baritone Dr. Peter Bloser joined Coro in 2019, not long after moving to New Mexico. In addition to singing with Coro, he has worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory since late 2018, after spending the previous 14 years on the Research Faculty at the University of New Hampshire. His work centers on developing innovative gamma-ray instruments to make new measurements of the high-energy Universe. He has been visiting New Mexico since graduate school in the 1990s to fly instruments on high-altitude balloons with NASA.
